A list was compiled some years ago called The TEN COMMON THREADS OF A LONG-LASTING AND HAPPY MARRIAGE. The first three are considered the most important; COMMITMENT to longevity, depth and growth, effective COMMUNICATION system, and the ability to RESOLVE CONFLICT creatively. These three are called the "golden threads" because they are perhaps the strongest, most vital fibers in the fabric of marriage. They have been labeled the three C's, because they stand for COMMITMENT, COMMUNICATION, AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION.
A good marriage is always growing in these areas. Often couples need help and support in their relationship. A Marriage Enrichment retreat is planned for November 13-15, 2015 to give couples the opportunity to explore the three C's. The sessions will be led by Anita and myself and Becky and Andy Brown and will include written exercises and opportunities for individual, couple, and group participation. All sessions are conducted in an accepting, supportive atmosphere in which all discussion is confidential, voluntary, and non-confrontational.
The location of the retreat will be at Hinton Rural Life Center, close to Hayesville, N.C. The cost is $120 per couple. Space is limited to 10 couples. More information will be forthcoming. If you have any questions, call Becky or myself at the church, 828.456.9475.
Blessings and Peace,
