Sojourners Winter Lights

About this event

Sojourners Celebrate “Winter Lights” in December

Come with the Sojourners as they take a magical trip to view the Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville on Thursday, December 19.

Winter Lights is a spectacular open-air walk-through light show made from over one million lights! This year’s event features favorites like the famously tall 50-foot lighted tree and the Quilt Garden, along with enchanting new details designed to delight and surprise.  Winter Lights is the North Carolina Arboretum’s largest annual fundraiser and supports many parts of its mission driven programming.

The Sojourners adventure will begin at 4:00 PM at the church where the FUMC minibus will be waiting to carry us into the magical land of Christmas lights.  Our first stop will be at the Apollo Flame Bistro (apolloflamebistro.net) on Brevard Road where we will enjoy an early dinner together before our 6:00 PM arrival and entry into Winter Lights.

At the Arboretum you will be free to wander the illuminated trails which begin at the Baker Visitor Center and wander back to the Education building.  Total round trip is approximately ½ mile.  Several Christmas shops and cocoa shacks will be available.

Because the cost of admission is per vehicle, we will be taking the church minibus which can accommodate 14 passengers.  The cost for this enchanting night is $12.50 per person, which includes bus transportation and entry into the Winter Lights.  The cost of your dinner meal will be on your own.

If you have any questions about Winter Lights or Sojourners in general, please contact Bob and Mary Stark.  We’re looking forward to seeing the light show with you!!
