Keith Turman is extremely excited to be serving as the new senior pastor at FUMC Waynesville.
Keith has lived in the Western North Carolina Mountains for most of his life. His first appointment as a United Methodist pastor was to the Faith and Francis Cove churches here in Waynesville. Keith was the founding pastor of the Hillsdale United Methodist Church in Advance, NC, served as a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries in Lithuania, was the Director of Congregational Development in the Asheville District, and before coming to FUMC was senior pastor of Skyland United Methodist Church in South Asheville.
Keith graduated from Asbury College with a degree in Psychology, received a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and earned a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching and Church Leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary.
Keith and his wife, Chan, have been married 28 years, and they have four children, Ben, Joey, Clair and Ross. He loves to fish, run long distances, go on backpacking adventures, and drink really good coffee.
